Our Story

How we met

Kelly and Kevin met as sophomores at Penn, and they quickly became great friends. Kelly struck Kevin as the sweetest girl he had ever met, and Kevin struck Kelly as an amazing friend and a wonderful resource for her Econ problem sets.

Over the years of shared classes, parties, and sorority date nights, Kevin developed an undeniable crush on Kelly that, by senior year, resulted in him asking her on numerous dates, until she finally agreed (relented). They began officially dating after graduating from Penn in 2017, and have since worked and lived together in NYC where they live today along with many of their closest friends.

The proposal

For their proposal in October 2025, Kevin surprised Kelly in Rome while she was on a family vacation with her parents, aunts, uncles, and her two older sisters Kathy and Karen. Planning for the proposal began months prior, with an elaborate plan to surprise Kelly on a Thursday evening at an overlook at the Terrazza del Pincio.

Just a few days before Kevin's flight to Rome, Italian weather service notices of a “torrential downpour” on Thursday meant an emergency pivot to Friday morning at a new location — every proposal planner's dream! Kelly's sisters masterfully coordinated a plan to take sunrise photos at Rome's Spanish Steps the next morning, where Kevin would be waiting in hiding behind a Fiat and illegally parked Vespa. The rest is history!

Why Seattle

Kevin was born and raised in Washington where his family still lives, and we have loved spending time together over the years in and around Seattle. We love the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and thought a summer wedding in Seattle would be a perfect contrast to our daily lives in New York City.

We can't wait for you to get here to celebrate with us!

July is usually dry and sunny, with daytime highs in the 70s °F. The welcome party is entirely outdoors, and evenings near the water cool down quickly, so ladies may want to bring a light layer for Friday. The wedding day is entirely indoors.

While the recent Super Bowl champion Seahawks will regretfully be in their offseason, a summer night at T-Mobile Park watching the Mariners is a Seattle classic. The Mariners have home games every day from Tuesday, July 6 through Sunday, July 11.
